Independent, in the United Kingdom, founded in 2026 by a dad who wanted better for his own daughters, and then for everyone else.
The name
Nuno is what one of our founder’s daughters called her dummy. It was her word, invented in the living room, and it meant comfort and safety in two small syllables. When it came time to name a studio that makes things for families, no boardroom could have done better.
Say it nun-oh: the first half rhymes with sun, the second with go. In dictionary form, NUN-oh, or /ˈnʌnəʊ/.
The studio
Little Nuno Studios makes calm, finished apps: tools for parents and games for children under the Little Nuno name, and apps for grown-ups built to the same rules. Everything is tested with the world’s two most honest critics before it ships.
Four things we will not trade away
- Small people deserve software made with the same care as the toys we would put in their hands.
- Parents deserve to relax: no ads, no manipulative purchases, no data we ever see.
- Grown-ups deserve the same respect: software that keeps a record of your life without mining it.
- Quality is a feature. We would rather ship one finished thing than three nearly-finished ones.
The same way, every time
Every app goes through the same steps before it reaches you. None of them is skipped for a deadline.
- A threat model first. Before the first screen is drawn, we write down what could go wrong with your data and design so it cannot.
- Real devices where we have them. Checked on the iPhones and watches the studio owns, in light and dark, with the accessibility settings on. Where we have only a simulator, the app's accessibility page says so.
- An independent review. Someone whose job is to find fault reads the whole thing before release, and their findings are answered in writing.
- One thing at a time. A single pipeline, one app in build, finished properly before the next starts.
- The label, checked. What the App Store privacy label says is verified against what the app actually does, and quoted on our site exactly as shipped.
